Keynote speech: Cyon Media and the opportunities of IP ownership in the world of Web3

Cyon Media is a Finland-based company founded by broadcast systems architect Tracie Mitchell and producer Lotta Stenroos, who joined forces from opposite ends of the industry — technical and creative — to solve a shared problem; creators losing control once their work enters traditional distribution. With over 20 years of combined experience spanning global production and broadcast architecture — including backgrounds at BBC, Sony, Disney, Warner Brothers, Time Warner, and Al Jazeera — the founders are building a programmable Web3 player that ties content, IP, licensing, and analytics together. Through a single encrypted link, filmmakers can publish directly, verify licensing, and flexibly monetize.

Speakers:

Lotta Stenroos, CEO/Co-founder Lotta is a senior producer, screenwriter/director, and strategist with 15+ years in broadcast and film. She has led large-scale TV productions and developed content for major Nordic media houses. With a strong grasp of both the creative and operational sides of production, she drives cyon.media’s business strategy, partnerships, and platform vision.

Tracie Mitchell, CTO/Founder Tracie is a broadcast systems architect with over two decades of experience delivering infrastructure for global media giants such as BBC, Al Jazeera, Disney, and Sony. She specialises in designing complex, scalable content workflows — from asset management to automation. Tracie began working with blockchain media protocols in 2017 and has since built cyon.media’s architecture from scratch, pioneering its rights-first, decentralised publishing model. She leads all technical development and platform security.
